Annual Update from the Board

Good morning and Happy New Year to all...this is going to be a quick recap of our Board Meeting. Please read through this as there a few "new to you" items.

2022 Board of Directors

On the left is our newly minted Board of Directors. Dave Langston has been elected as the President of the Board for 2022, please congratulate him when you see him.

The Board would also like to recognize Phil Broughton, who after 30years of service, has decided to step down. Phil has been an integral part of the ACMC and a tremendous help in the formation of our newly combined club. We are very appreciative in all of the time and effort that he has given to us and are happy that he can now just come out and play golf (if he chooses).

Tournament Information

Starting with our first tournament in January we will be eliminating the Combo Tee option for all events. The Championship flight will be contended from the Blue Tees and all subsequent flights will be contended from a mix of the Blue and White Tees based on handicap. We will always try to make the flights as even as possible.

Team Events: Mixed tees (one player from Blues and One from Whites) will be permitted as long as the White Tee player falls under the following formula: Age + Handicap = 75. In order to be included in the Championship Flight, at least one player MUST be playing from the Blue Tees.

Posting of Scores

Starting with our first tournament in January, the Board will only be posting the scores in MAJOR COMPETITIONS. There are roughly eight events that we consider Majors and they will be noted on the tournament website with a * after the name of the event. All other tournaments will be posted by the players as soon as the round of golf is completed.

This also applies to the Skins games played on Friday and Sunday. All players need to post their scores the day of.

The World Handicap System was designed to factor in weather conditions and scoring but it is only capable of applying these metrics if your scores are posted the day you play. If you back post, these metrics are null and void.

The Board will be reviewing the Tournament Rosters and Skins Rosters to ensure that all players that participated have posted their scores. We will also be reminding players the day of play to post when done playing.

Tournament/Skins Registration

Cutoff for Tournament Registration will be TWO DAYS before the event is played. Saturday event - Cutoff is Thursday 5pm. Sunday event - Cutoff is Friday 5pm.

Cutoff for Skins registration will be 4pm the day before play. The Saturday Skins game has been eliminated due to lack of participation over the past year. If interest picks up again in the future, we can discuss adding it back into the rotation.
